Phenomena
This image is showing how overtime the earth is warming up. There is more orange on the map as time passes, to represent warmer temperatures on earth.
1. What does the orange color represent? (warmer temperatures?)
2. Why is there more orange on the image as time passes? (earth is warming up)
3. What is global climate change?
4. How is the climate in our area being affected by climate change? (think warmer summers, winters, and less rainfall)
5. How is climate change affecting our planet? (ice caps melting is an example)

Model Your Thinking
Look at this map of the world! Print out a copy of this map and color in the areas with orange where the climate is considered "warmer" or "hot" (think where we live has a warm climate, the deserts of the world have a warm climate, Australia has a warm climate, etc). Then with a blue crayon color in the areas that have a "cooler" or "cold" climate (think Antarctica, Russia, the North Pole, etc).
