Hi! This site will teach fifth graders all about the different Earth Systems. From the atmosphere, to different Earth cycles (especially the water cycle), to different kinds of rocks, to different kinds of pollutions, and food chains/webs, this site has it all! We also teach environmental studies and ways to limit pollution! Take a look and feel free to use our resources!
Modeling Your Thinking
Allow students to walk outside of class around campus in search of local ecosystems. If one is found (such as on a field or in a few bushes), have the students explain the different components of this mini "ecosystem." For even more in depth thinking, have students connect ecosystems in nature to the "ecosystem" of the school. Students should be able to explain how different parts of the school work together to function as one large facility.
